I wish! Hehe

Actually most of the Corvettes in the museum are on loan either from individuals or General Motors.

For example, there's only one 1983 Vette in existence and it's in a glass showcase at the front of the museum on a rotating platform. I might be getting the story a little off, but it's the only year that they didn't do a production model but they had made three or so before making that decision (apparently the other two were torn apart and junked from what I was told.)

There are all sorts of neat little facts about the car there. Like the fact that the Corvette emblem was originally a racing flag and a US flag but last minute it was changed to the racing flag and fleur de lis and a new emblem raced to the initial showing of this fiber glass beauty (full story is more interesting but I'm sure to get some facts wrong so I'm doing the short version.)

I came back from the Corvette (not museum) 50th anniversary celebration last summer with a brain filled with little facts like this.

I wasn't nearly as obsessed with them until after going to the 50th anniversary celebration. Five days of fun, sun and a SEA of vettes in the parking lot as well as on display. If you want to know why I was there you will just have to send me a private message - that part has nothing to do with bragging for myself.

Gotta get some sleep now.

PS - sent Eric Sohn a private message to see what it was he talked about at his BNI meeting that sparked the request for us to share our accomplishments.

Eric - just because you didn't bring it up to promote yourself, why not go ahead and say what it was. I'm sure others are interested! (Unless you just want curious people to contact you.)

:)
