Good that Tom raised the point of advertising over here. Google's opex can be paid off by advertising. But would the customers not get irritated when bombarded by so many ads?
Also google provides the Gmail service for free. We cant see a single ad on Gmail portal as against yahoo. what would be google's aim then at providing the Gmail service at its own cost?
