If taken literally, I agree with Dan in this article: trying to figure out SIP addressing is, well, nuts. But my various versions of "phone client" do it all the time for me: Gizmo, Net2Phone, Skype, and others use SIP or a distant cousin to connect to other users, and lots of VoIP phone services use the real thing. You just don't know it, since you're not entering the maddening numeric digit string -- your client is.
I vote for keeping it simple. Let the client do the heavy lifting: I just want to click and talk.Private Reply to Robert Russell (new win) |
