when your business travel gets too much for you, too maddening for you to desist, I suggest you : carry PG Wodehouse with you, ths great legend keeps you in equilibrium
am currently reading the brilliant Anthology : What Ho! - The Best of PG Wodehouse
and must say it's riotous!
he said 'I believe there are two ways of writing novels. One is mine, making a sort of musical comedy without music and ignoring the real life altogether; the other is going right deep down into life and not caring a damn"
This great writer who defies superlatives and gentle writing..he says a life/childhood that was as normal as rice pudding is worse than the life that consisted of little more than 'sitting in front of the typewriter and cursing a bit...'
those who read or read PG...well,sure have had a riotous series of laughter n thereafter chuckles whenever that spring of memory rises its steely head again...the reader, you live and throb with PG Wodehouse, he enables you to create the characters and the varied situation
so what you have ...a rich cocktail of Jeeves, Blandings, the Drones, Psmith, Ukridge etc etc...
I vehemently suggest this to the child who is incarcerated in each one of you
