Having heard so much about THE ALCHEMIST by Paulo Cohelo, I finally bought the book.
But with due respect to the Author and all those who have raved and ranted about the book, I am struggling.
I also seriously introspected these last few days to see whether I had any shortcomings and why I wasn't able to buy into this con job like the rest of the world has. As you all must have guessed I gave myself a clean bill of (mental) health:)
It's an uphill task which is getting more difficult with every passing page to make any sense of this book (I confess to having read books by Rajneesh, Deepak CHopra, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Robin Sharma ect.) basically in the same genre and havent felt that I am reading a highly over rated piece of work when I read these guys.
I kept on trying but after 125 pages I can take no more. I may find myself eating Chana packed in a paper which was a once a part of this over rated comedy (or tragedy) called the Alchemist!
The point is, has any one of you felt so cheated by something which the rest of the world has raved and ranted about?
Brgds Kedar
