|| Hello Valerie,
Thanks for asking because I think your question really benefits the group.
Basically the way Advance Mentoring should work is you post your profile to be a mentor or mentee, and then do one of two things. 1. Wait to be contacted by the desired party (Highly do not suggest this strategy) or 2. Be Proactive and contact whoever you thiunk appropriate.
We have tried to provide enough resources and tools for communication on the website so that users can log on and handle all of their mentoring needs in one place. Through the personal email boxs, I-Messenger, Forum, and community chat room, we hope this can meet your communication needs.
Contacting someone direct is something that you will have to negotiate personally with the person you wish to get in contact with. Just send them a message after you have found them in your search by scrolling all the way to the bottom of their profile and clicking the "send message"button. I'd suggest a message along the lines of "Hello *****, (your bio) would you be interested in being my mentee/mentor and if he/she would mind if they communicated directly."
There are no charges at all right now and everything is free.
What we are really trying to do at Advance Mentoring is to make mentoring more accessible, and so that everyone can be lucky enough to benefit from what mentoring has to offer. We ask that Mentors do not charge and depict what mentoring is all about; Helping for Helpings sake. If you do feel that it is neccessary that you personally charge, please put your rates, conditions etc. in your profile and then you and your mentee can work that out personally.
Also try our Resources Section for more help;
For Mentors just starting on Advance Mentoring:
And for Mentees just begining the search:
