Patricia (Patti) Pollina
For me, I felt I needed a mentor when I signed up with Advanced Mentoring, someone from whom I could learn more.

However, after thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that when one coaches another, both receive benefits from the commitment, the input and feedback given and received.

I guess for me, being a mentor really means helping others help themselves, and in the process, the bonus for the mentor (hey, that would be me then!) is learning new ways to be a better person, coach, teacher, trainer, etc. through my interaction with another wonderfully made human being.

What a great two-way street down Win-Win Boulevard!

And that's my two cents,

Pat

Since we already have such a diverse group here I am curious to hear what each of you think. Why do you want to be a mentor? What are the benefits that you receive from being a mentor? What are the challenges you face in acting as a Mentor?

Being a Mentor, there is a very special bond that occurs between my Mentees and I. And at times it can be trying, but when my Mentees succeed, it makes it all worth it.
