||Being a young mentor

|| Hello All.
This is a question that has been in the back of my head during the "what does bing a mentor mean to you?" discussion.
What effect does being a Mentor at an early age have on the rest of your professional career?
In my opinion, it has a very large effect on how you progress. We learn several things as we are mentors. The most common of which are leadership and understanding that your leadership makes a difference and better interpersonal skills when relating to others in our professional environment.
Do the skills that being a Mentor teaches us make us better managers?
