Alan,
The purpose of this group is to talk about mentoring topics and discuss best practices. We do feel that this network is an ineffective way to truly meet a mentor or a mentee, that is why we have created Advance Mentoring. On our site:

one can search for a mentor/mentee by industry, location, or experience. This eliminates a few problems which trying to find a mentor/mentee here: 1. You don’t have to check back constantly looking for posts since you will always be listed on our site. 2. You can see all available mentors/mentees at a given time. 3. You can perform advance searches to find exactly what you are looking for. 4. You can post more information and it is displayed in a very clear, organized fashion, helping to accurately display your experiences in work, school, and your interest in mentoring. 5. We provide information and resources to help answer questions on specific topics (on Ryze this would be inefficient having one to sort through posts, etc).
I encourage all those looking for mentoring to be either a Mentor or a Mentee, or both. We truly want to help people succeed in their careers.
