Hello, my name is Sandra Wills and I am new to the group. I am the president of a small business called the Graphics House. What I do is create marketing materials for small businesses. This includes business cards, letterhead, envelopes, brochures, post cards, websites, cd packages, etc.
When I started the business it was on a part time basis. I still had a full time job and I worked nights and weekends on the business. My clients were people I met primarily through networking at small business events hosted by the SBA, SCORE and WEDA and personal networking at my church and through friends. My clients so far have been micro entrepreneurs who worked from home and did some type of consulting. I also created a post card for an actor and a website for a woman who creates artwork that she prints on t-shirts.
About a year ago I took the business full time. At this point I need to go for a larger size business although I still want to specialize in small office, home office businesses. So I am in the process of trying to define my ideal clients. One thing I have done in this regard is to create a survey on a site called SurveyMonkey.com. If any members of this network would be willing to take my survey it would help me try and define my ideal customer.
