Having owned my own three businesses for over 29years and weathering all storms, I am trying to work from home if financially possible. Since I started, I am doing ok, but not a fortune, enough if I was a work at home mom, but not with my mortgages and outgoings.
This week One of our dearest friends was killed in a motorway accident, he has a severely disabled daughter, a wife, son and heavy mortgage. Little insurance and his wife is at her wits end, wondering how to cope without him.
Today is my birthday. I planned on having the day off with my grandaughter, My staff could not get to work because of the snow, so I ended up giving my daughter the day off to care for my grandaughter, and running the shop, fishery and snack bar on my own. I finished at 5.15, came home and I now have to cook for 7 people. I received a call from I won't say who. about taking part in a training excersize helping me to become a millionaire. I politely asked if I could call back or could they call me another time. I was cold, wet tired, upset and still with work in front of me. The comment I got was if you cannot find the time to talk NOW then you are not the person we want in our team. FINE excuse me! Maybe I do not want to be in YOUR team, Maybe you won't care enough about me! Maybe it will take me longer to become a dot com millionaire. Quite frankly right now, I do Not care!
