I was introduced to the cybercloud through a service called Poken. While I remain impressed by the little gadget and how it works, I readily admit I have found something I like much better. It's called a V-card and it works with desktops, laptops, Internet tablets and cell phones. What I like about the V-card is I can do away with the need for paper business cards. I simply no longer need them. If someone wants to connect with me, I simply give them somebody else's card with a link on the back to some valuable information I wrote.
By giving the other party someone else's card with my link on the back I accomplish several things. First, I give the other party the opportunity to learn about someone other than me. I am lifting up someone else. Second, I encourage this party to do a little WORK (visit a website to learn about me and receive valuable information). The fact the other party has to do some work means I may actually be remembered in his or her brain. And, isn't that what we all want to happen when we network? We want to be remembered.
However, the real kicker comes when I send the party who gave me a paper business card a V-card invitation via email and we become linked in a cybercloud. No more misplaced business cards. No more updating Microsoft Outlook data. It is now all taken care of automatically for me in the cybercloud. But, best of all, I can never lose my contact data. I really like that aspect of the cybercloud approach.
