Hello Everyone

I've been missing in action for several weeks now. You can see what I've been doing on the openfuture web site.

Essentially I've tried to identify what we need to do to have an Open Future; to make an open future possible.

The present recession is a blessing. Look at the price of oil. The lower price means that DEMAND has fallen. We've got to achieve that objective with many resources, electrical energy, water, and copper ore for instance.

Economists have lots to answer for. Their BAD ADVICE is everywhere. The whole of economic theory is built on the idea that all economies can continually GROW. Now there is something wrong with that theory. In the last 30 years the real wages of Americans have hardly changed. There's a clue.

Now we have a meltdown of financial markets, something I've been predicting for about 4 years. That's another clue.

There's no point in rebuilding General Motors. It's the wrong idea in the wrong place. Much of the old economy shouldn't be rebuilt. We have bring GREEN BUSINESS thinking to the CENTER of what we are doing. We have to develop businesses that are fully responsive to the ecology of the world.

This has to be a new beginning. A bail out for the old economy and "business as usual" is a sentence for poverty and probably early death for your grand-children, maybe also for your children.

We should try to avoid that outcome.
