Rhea | | Hubby observed that I never use til in my cooking. It's true. I never do- I don't know what to do with it. Never saw my mom use it and have never thought about it myself...
Any simple recipes for a beginner? I have bought about100gms of white til.

another quick recepie....cut french beans....just add a dash of olive oil in a non stick pan....add the french beans, salt and stir a bit...add little water and let the beans cook in the water...till u think its edible ( i like mine crunchy)...add pepper and til...u could serve it warm or the refigerate and serve it like a cold salad

Rhea | | Hey Kenneth, please don't apologise...there's no reason for any apology at all. No one is an expert here, least of all me... there's tons I don't know, but I'd love to learn.

Suman Tripathy | | Hi Rhea,
You can sprinkle Til while making Cheese cookies, Naan Or even mix it when you are making salty-sweet nimkis.
Another Potato recipe is - Batata Shak Heat oil, put some jeera and then add potato roundels. Fry and add some water and cook. Then add salt and chilli pwd. When the water dries add lots of til and fry. Then put lots of cut dhania. Goes well with rice or rotis.
Oriental Salad - Thinly slice capsicum, carrot, spring onion, celery and cabbage and mix. Add some sprouts and crushed garlic to it. You can use these veg raw or lightly saute them. Make a dressing of soya sauce, lemon juice, sesame oil sugar and salt. Mix with the vegs. Sprinkle lots of toasted sesame on top. Serve at room temp or chilled.Private Reply to Suman Tripathy |
