I have installed a Joomla site no problem there
I have installed the Community Builder module and no problem there
However, I cannot figure out how to create a link to the forum plugin or blog plugin or any other features for that matter
I know the Community Builder set up is ok the forum and blog are both published and the Community Builder log in form works just fine

Thanks ahead of time

Rodney Collins | | I think you have to login to your administrator section and then use that to add items into the menu. It may be that you have done that already but sometimes the top navigation menu takes up the full width of the page and this causes additional menu options to be hidden (or there is not enough room to add more menu options).
You can fix this by widening all the website pages. This can be done by altering the Joomla template files (you need to know HTML, CSS, and a little of PHP for that).
Of course, widening the pages is not always the ideal solution. I don't know enough about Joomla to know if you can have a multi-line top menu or if you can configure it to have a sidebar menu.
Over to the Joomla experts! (perhaps Reg or Scott).

Reg Charie | | A link would help Pete.
Scott is the one to ask about Joomla, as I have only given it a quick look a couple of times.
I would think that you would use the admin to add your sections as was suggested.
The one thing that struck me, was the very thing that caused me to discard it in favor of CRELoaded, and that was the complexity of the admin. Far too many choices for the regular user and poor documentation. I think it has to be one of the most configurable/granular CMS out there and the admin reflects the choices.
I am quite used to stepping into unknown admins but Joomla had me running in circles. I am sure there is a logical progression to the maze of choices but it was not apparent.

Pete Hollier | | Thanks for the help all!
Version 1.5
I can work around in Joomla ok no problem with the menus and no need to alter CSS, HTML or PHP and I am reasonably proficient in those (my design skills are challenged, any site I make may work well but wow its ugly).
And Reg a link would help and will probably kick myself when I can work out how to create the link I want to the forum and blog which both show up under community builder plugins and are both published. I can create links for other things but not what I need.
I managed to get another forum working ok (Agora) but it is the visitor networking features I am looking for from Community Builder
Thanks again
Pete

Scott Wolpow | | Have you installed all the proper plugins and published them?
To create a new link you have to go to Menus>The menu used>New Then select what you want. You may know this already. If you are still having issues PM me with your number and I will try and call you in PM today.Private Reply to Scott Wolpow |
