Dear Art Lover,

Nehru Centre has actively promoted art over last fifteen years. A generation of talented artists from all over India have been nurtured and promoted by providing them facility to exhibit their work. This is pursuant to one of the objectives of the Centre.

In March, 2007 Nehru Centre organized an exhibition titled ART FUSION with the sole purpose of giving an opportunity living in the hinterland of Maharashtra to display their work in Mumbai along side the works of well artists of the state. The response to the show was enormous

Encourage by our success in 2007 we thought of expanding the scope of Art Fusion and in 2008, we invited artists from West Bengal along with the artists from Maharashtra. Once again we received excellent response. It was therefore decided to make Art Fusion an annual event of the Nehru Centre, inviting artists from all over the country.

This year we have invited artists from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra to participate in Art Fusion which is being held from March 3rd to March 9th 2009. And all 117 artists have put up their work in the exhibition out of which 62 artists are from Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

There are distinguished artists from Tamil Nadu and Kerala like M. Senthipathi, Rm Palaniappan, B. O. Shailesh, Gayatri, M. Rama Suresh, K. R. Babu along with upcoming artists who are participating in this exhibition.

From Maharashtra there are eminent artists like Ravi Paranjpe, Vasudeo Kamath, Yashwanth Shirwadhkar, Suhas Bahulkar, Pandurang Tathe, Sudhakar Chavanand many more young artists who will show their works in this exhibition.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Jehangir Sabavala, an eminent artist on Monday 2nd March 2009.

The Exhibition will be on view from 3rd to 9th March 2009 at Hall of Vision, second floor, Nehru Centre, Discovery of India Building, Dr. Annie Besant Road,
Worli, Mumbai 400018
