Long many years ago, in that LOO laden late morning, (LOO-hot summer wind) while bicycling up to his school, on that narrow dusty serpentine road, that small boy, lost in his innocent thoughts, was up on his way…….. when a shining new car driven by some rich, sped past him, and blew a dust storm on his face, and his poor bicycle; he was shocked for a moment, then lost in the dust storm of humiliation, he dreamt a dream all awake; sometimes, some day, he would buy his own new car; he would drive it frenzy but would never blow a dust storm on a poor boy’s face.
as he grew big, he chased his dream in hands with financers and bankers, but it was no avail, at most it was only a second hand maruti 800;
from bicycle to a second hand car: shift was not bad, but he wondered where has gone his dream; he was perplexed, bewildered and frustrated, and on the verge of tears, when he accosted a gentleman
the gentleman said ‘ my name is Ratan Tata’ I have a knack of knowing people’s dreams and fulfilling them; I know your childhood dream as well, here is your childhood dream fulfilled, pull up your cheque book write the paltry sum of Rs one lac, or just count your pockets
ah, done that, now close up your eyes for a moment; AND now here! open up your eyes; here is your dream before you, the shining small car NANO all yours and to your dreams
never care the world what it says: this is a real car, yes believe me , a real car all yours: you need not thank me , fact is you always deserved it.’
having said that the gentleman disappeared, leaving behind the shining NANO

No sir, laying hands on a NANO is not as simple as all that -you have to submit an application - the form costs Rs 300 .... and then you'll have to wait your turn ... ther lakhs of appications multiplied by the Rs 300 for each form works out to a sizeable total which would offset the investnments to a certain extent so that we, commoners, can get a one lakh car ...
Our Mamata-didi knew all along the sinister plans of how NANO would hoodwink the population - so she drove it out from Singur and into Sadanand in Gujarat...

In case she does gets a handful of seats, which won't make any dent in the prsent combination of West Bengal, how will she strike bargains in Delhi when it comes to the game of numbers? Would she want the Railway Ministry back?

I am not too happy that millions people will pay deposits at certain interest rate and wait fir the car, when cars are produced at the production rate of 300 per month or so. (36000 per year, one lac per 34 months and million per 29 years haha. Hope the other two plants commense soon and 29 years waiting period is resuced to 10 years still bad enough) This rmeinds us of license raj when people waited for 10 years for phone connection and 8-10 years for sccooters) . This gives rise to people selling the allotment letters and making money without any value add and some people end up paying extra money for no value add simply to gain lead time. If this 'on money' Then the so called affordable car eventually may not stay as affordable.Is this likely? so very right - there used to be a time when a vespa scooter was available for 2500 rupees if one was ready to wait for 6 years. however, if one wanted it the very next day, he would have to pay double the cost! the difference would be pocketed by the chain of middlemen.

Dubbed ‘the people’s car’ by its manufacturer Tata Motors and its visionary chairman Ratan Tata, Tata Nano was built from ground up with a particular price target - Rs. 100,000. Or just around US$2000 or AU$3000.
Nano is the cheapest car in the world and has half the price-tag of Maruti 800, also a people’s car and the cheapest car until now...
