Will You Help?

Dear Feel Free to Prosper Members and Subscribers,

I want to let you know what's happening with Susan McCool and her children and hope some of you will join me in helping in some way.

Susan became part of the Feel Free to Prosper staff two years ago and I can truly say that she has not only been the technical wind beneath my wings, but I consider her to be a friend -and family as well. You can read about her here on my website:
http://www.feelfreetoprosper.com/RecommendedResources.html

Susan is a single Mom and lives in the little town of Lee, Florida. They've been through a couple of hurricanes since I've known her, but were always able to return home after a short time. She moved to this rural area because she thought it was a great place to raise her two young children - Paige and Tucker (who is autistic) - while building her business at home.

Around April 7th, her county was hit by the worst flood they had ever seen - they say in 500 years. The river overflowed and her home was destroyed with water, structural damage and mold. They cannot return to it.

She and her two children are safe. Their neighbor and good friend was not so fortunate. He did not want to leave his home and later could not be found. His body was finally found on Tuesday 1/2 mile from where the river swept him up. So they finally have closure on that.

Susan and the two children were able to take enough clothes to last just a few days. And a few toys to keep them occupied. But that's it. They lost everything that they didn't bring with them. She is in the process of looking for another place to live that is within her budget and everything has to be replaced - all electronics, furniture, kitchen items, etc.

From her first notes:

"Right now I'm just taking it one day at a time and playing it by ear trying to figure out what we are going to do. So many people lost their homes that rentals are very scarce right now and the prices are going up b/c of the demand. My sister told me that they are sending Red Cross from the Palm Beach County area up here to help out. We currently have people from all over the state here volunteering to assist us and more and more people are signing up to help clean and repair homes. We have been declared a Natural Disaster area by the state and we are awaiting approval for FEMA to come in to bring more assistance. I'm trying to stay positive amongst all the negative nellies.

I really don't have the energy to let everyone know where I've disappeared to. You are welcome to let the Ryzers know. I am going to put an update on Twitter...but that is about as far as I'm going to go. I haven't slept in days and I'm having to force myself to eat. Tucker is actually taking things pretty well, but Paige is not. Everyday she asks me if we can go home. Definitely wearing on me."

~Susan

What do you think, Feel Free to Prosper members and subscribers? Can we put our heads - and hearts - together to help?

Susan has always been such a positive influence on the forums with her knowledge and desire to help. And as I mentioned, she has been a major help to me professionally but I consider her a friend, not just a business associate.

I will do my part because we are close, but I wonder if you would also be willing to help.

In my latest conversation with Susan...

The kids have settled down and she's feeling better. She is staying temporarily with her grandmother but friends have offered to open their doors as well until she finds a place.

One member of a network forum I belong to has generously offered her clothing and shoes and I had to find out if the sizes were right - they were just right! Synchronicity! This same woman has offered to send clothing for the children if I can get the sizes, which I will do.

Here are the details if you would like to help...

SHIPPING ITEMS:

Ms. Susan McCool
2848 Northeast River Park Road
Lee, FL 32059

The postman knows her and wherever she is staying. So he will either deliver packages directly if it's on his route or he will leave a notice for her to come pick them up at the station.

Susan wears size 10 clothing and size 9 shoes. I will find out the children's sizes and if you need them, just contact me. But any household items that you may no longer need would also really help. Or ask your intuition if and how you could help in some way.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

If you would like to send financial support to Susan,  the easiest and fastest process would be to send it directly to Susan's PayPal account.

Remember, there is no such thing as a "small" donation. All donations add up. Just follow your heart.

Since it's not safe to ever put an email address on the Internet,  I have posted the following addresses spelled out. But just change them to regular format when you use them:

Here is Susan's personal PayPal address:

susanvoa (at) aol (dot) com

If you would like to write to her, her email addresses are:

susan (at) SpotlightMarketingAndDesign (dot) com
susanvoa (at) aol (dot) com

BUSINESS SITUATION...

At this time, Susan said her clients are giving her a reprieve to handle her current situation. So since she is taking the break from business to get settled, I know the financial support would be of great help.

She's tuned into prosperity laws and knows that she will have victory over this situation, but we all need each other at times when we are in the "eye of the storm." There have been times in my life that earth angels appeared to get me through situations.

The area she lives in does not have access to high speed, so she has done amazing work for her clients on dial up. Susan hasn't completely lost her sense of humor.  She said maybe the Universe is insisting that she move to a high-speed area :-)

Thank you in advance, whether for tangible help or just your thoughts, well wishes or prayers. It's all meaningful.

Below are the details - ages and sizes, as some have requested in emails.

Susan will not be able to go back to her house...the floor is buckled up in the middle of the house which is a sign of a compromised foundation. It is not safe for them to even enter the house to salvage anything left behind.

Susan's mother and brothers lost everything due to mold, but they will still have a house once the mold is cleaned up. She also sent me ages and sizes for her mother and brothers in case someone would like to help.

Residents who live by a river cannot get flood insurance.

Susan is very touched by the responses and says she is grateful to know and be associated with such wonderful people.
