Hi everyone, am new to ryze and clusters doing power-networking. I will be looking to host a Christian music radio program at KPFZ 88.1 fm, located at Northern California. I am seeking advise on how to expand my online audience...any suggestions? Is there anything that twitter can do to help me achieve this goal? Also, I would like to know how I can use the mechanics of yugma to conduct online interviews during programming?

Jeanette,

Welcome to Clusters. Do you by any chance know Dr. Taira St. John? She has a show on that station. When would your show be airing?

Jeannette.

Some kind of Chat is a great way to engage listeners. Particularly on a "Listen Live" screen.

I'm pencilled in to host a weekly, 2 hr internet radio show and will probably be using a single purpose Skype account for interacting with on line listeners.

I had considered Yugma but didn't want the distraction and added resposibility of monitoring a chat.

Here's the setup Towncrier uses when broadcasting & the host wishes to interact with the audience. http://www.towncrierbroadcasting.com/ChatRoom

Jeannette.

Although KPFZ 88.1 fm is a very tasteful site;   I was surprised that they don't have an on line "Listen Live" feature and also, that none of the hosts are profiled.   Both are important features for influencing current and potential listeners.

I'm pencilled in to host a weekly, 2 hr Internet radio show and one of the first things they requested from me was copy for my profile and a photograph.

One of my favourite on line only, radio stations is http://hayhouseradio.com.   They're very successful and in addition to listing their program schedule also utilize, telephone, fax & email to interact with listeners.

Hayhouse' hosts and guests are constantly "mentioning" their latest book and/or seminar and it seems to be a successful formula since hosts and guests books are frequently near the top of Amazon's list and their seminars, functions and cruises are well attended.

You may wish to send Dr Taira the URL for this thread. ( http://www.ryze.com/posttopic.php?topicid=1026765&confid=2970 ). In a recent conversation with her;   She seems open to productive concepts.

My direct contact details are in my Ryze profile.

Just listened to a fascinating on line broadcast about the trials, tribulations & expectations of public radio from http://www.kpfa.org CA.

Suggest you check their archive for Sun April 19-2009 "Sunday Sedition"  http://www.kpfa.org

You're looking for "Sunday Sedition". ..... Today's show is archived.
