Eileen Brown
Hey Folks.

We have our business/shops/services that keep us very busy.
But we also have a life beyond the keyboard/online/work.

Some things I do that are NOT work related:

Reading - Something I enjoy each day is reading, uh
everything and anything. Yes, much of this is for work but
I also read fiction, sci-fi, archeology, history studies,
and ferret out books about the white house china and first ladies.

Handicarafts - Sewing, cross stitch, embroidery, beading,
jewelry making, toll painting, painting. If it's a
handicraft I've given it a swing! But the ones listed I
still do as much as possible.

Gardening - this is work to a lot of folks and although it
IS work, I love it when I can get out there and do the
planting/spring maintenance myself. Although I have a
couple of weekly helpers, it is so refreshing to just "be
out there!"

Almost everything I do has music in the background too.
Music is inspirational!

That's three main activities off the top of my head, I
enjoy evening walks when I can take the time and someone is
here to sit with Russ so I can journey around our
neighborhood.

What is it that you do for fun, outside of all you do as a
business person?

Eileen

I love to play chess. Lucky for me, three of my sons enjoy the game, so we play every day.

I love to read, too! I keep two books going: one fiction and one non-fiction. Right now, I'm slogging through a rather tame novel by Elizabeth George (In the Presence of the Enemy).
That's probably because I'm thoroughly enjoying The Art of Intrusion, by Kevin D. Mitnick and William L. Simon.

Finally, I love inventing games. Most of them are mental exercises for contests, but some are for my current software project (oops! That's work!)

I participate in the Board Game Designers Forum's monthly Game Design Showdown. That is a fun place for me to hang out on the web.

I don't even Twitter much anymore, though that's fun, too!

Cheers,

Mitch

OK then, I'm the silly one. I thought you meant COFFEE OUT as in "leaving the body"

Here, you meant it as in, out at a cafe, enjoying coffee.

    My Home and Social Life?

    - I enjoy spending time with my wife, whether it be a night out together, which don't happen to often with 4 kids... But we sometimes get to go to the Mountaineer Race Track an Gaming resort. Unless we need a relaxing night out at bingo, which we really haven't done in a while.

    My Internet Life Entertainment?

    - Due to a lack of time usually, I have to find a game that isn't really time consuming. So I play war of nations online : not a bad little game for people with limited time.

    - I also host an ESPN Fantasy Football League through my website. Our Eagle the Motivator won last year, It's been a real pleasure having him as well. We are playing for a little money this year.

We still need more members so if you would be interested please contact me here on ryze.

    T.E.A.M. Mom!
What is it that you do for fun, outside of all you do as a
    business person?

Well let's see, I like to write (poetry), draw (abstract mostly), paint (watercolor and acrylic) and do crafts (mostly holiday ones now). I haven't done either in such a long time, I really should try to squeeze time into my stupid schedule, make me feel better.

I also like to read, mostly historical, ancient archeology, biblical stuff and anything Agatha Christie and Jane Austin! Since I spend so much time online b/ researching and working, I tend to read alot of stuff this way, but am finding it very tedious. I love when I can come across a favorite on video or on TV, brings the story and characters to life.

And, I love just being outside, whenever and where ever I can and is!!! Growing up in the city area, we really longed for the solitude and serenity away from all the constant noise, there were times it was so noisy growing up we could never sleep. I love going to my parents house a few minutes down the road so I can sit on their deck out front or just swing on my grams swing in the back.

Being that I am a renter for the past 11 yrs, I need to have this escape from time to time when my neighbors get rambuncous (which seems to be a 24/7 thing for 9 yrs). I can also take a quick walk across the street, climb the sand dunes and wa la beach and water! One direction is NYC, the other is the ocean, now that is what I call fun :) That is the only reason I won't move and put up with all I do, I just love the water, I look at every day from my top bedroom window and at night when it is real still I can hear the waves crashing.

My all time favorite fun activity since moving down here is going to Holmdel Park, where I can browse about their gardens, walk around a huge pond, take a mini hike on the trails, visit the working farm or the old homestead (where they are in 18th century clothing). The best time to go here is when the weather gets cool, fall is magnificant, hayrides, pumpkin picking, harvesting (even have an old fashioned halloween party) and the Holidays.

Thanksgiving time they do a feast, share instructional tid bits from the time period, show you how to prepare foods, etc and leading up to Christmas they have all sorts of fun things for families/kids to do, an old fashioned St Nick Party (kids make their own ornaments), see Santa, get a small gift! If it snows, they will even pull out the old horse sled, man oh man, I love that ride. They also light a big huge fire pit inside their visitor center that you can sit around and watch, get warm.

Well this is some of what I do for fun. Kind of boring I know, considering how crazy I can come across :D Enjoy your day, Patricia

Fun, for me it is a relative term. I am a busy mom and a navy wife so fun has two meanings...

    1) Fun is time with my daughter, especially precious moments when I see her learn something new or her compassionate nature comes out.
    2) Time by myself... which is almost none existant. :)

I am a spiritual person, so one thing I would call fun is my time with God, reading the word or going on a walk or hike and enjoying the magnificence around me.

I also love to read. I always seem to have several books going at once. Right now I am in the middle of four! LOL. its an obsession I have had since I was young.

Lastly, I think a candle lit bubble bath is my favorite. Or swimming or a hot shower without a little person banging on the door or playing with the shower curtain. Anything in the water away from others calms my anxieties and help me to focus on me for a little while. Some of my best inspiration and solutions have come from this time.

I guess I should tuck pedicures and window shopping into the fun list too.
