I wrote privately to Richard on this topic a couple of weeks ago. I've just had a letter from a new subscriber to the network who asks for changes in the way "Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute" is presented.
My suggestion to Richard was that each topic should be given a unique title. e.g. Persistence - Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute or Effort - Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute.
Dharma suggests that Richard has one thread under which all of his new entries are made. This has the effect of collecting all of the Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute's together.
This is the Innovation Network, we can do this. How about a Win/Win all round.
I suggest that Richard takes up Dharma's idea of posting all his Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute's in a single thread. As he does so he adds a line giving a unique title to discussion for this topic.
"Discussion Topic: SGMM: Persistence"
We agree that there should be no discussion in the main "Announcement Thread". Richard wants to keep using the brand "Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute" and that's OK but because of the length of the line, we need to reduce it for the discussion threads. Each of those threads needs a unique name, otherwise you are never quite sure which one you are opening.

When I Joined the Innovation Network I offered to do My Seeds Of Greatness Motivational Minute Messages and I started doing them.
I believe since these are my posts I am not willing to change the name or add a unique title to the messages. If you would like to make my Messages under the Title of Seeds Of Greatness Motivational Message and make it sticky I will put all my posts in the sticky thread.
I will not change the name or alter it in anyway. If you don't appreciate these messages thn I will stop doing them altogether. It will be our lost as I tyake my valuable Time on Mondays and Fridays topost these messages.
I am sorry if some of the members here do not like the way I post my Messages. I don't go around suggesting to other members what to name their Posts.
If you would like me to continue or stop please let me know either way.

The value of your "Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute" to this network lies in the discussion that might ensue. The post themselves are just trigger points.
I am happy to make "Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute" a sticky thread, on the basis that it's an announcement only thread. The discussion needs to take place under titles that clearly identify the topic.
I'm keen to encourage thoughtful debate. The present format of "Seeds of Greatness Motivational Minute" doesn't easily allow that to happen.
I'd like some more voices to express an opinion here.

Ken Hilving | | I don't believe it will work unless this network becomes published instead of moderated. Human nature being what it is, some members will forget the "rules", some members will ignore the "rules", and new members will be unaware of the "rules". Experience says even Richard, John, and Dharma will violate such rules at some point.
John could pull this off if all posts first came to him and he then published them. Of course, the workload would be overwhelming at times, and the flow of discussions would change, but there would be a single sticky for SGMM and they would carry a topic title for each post.
I don't think the effort and harm is justified by the gain.

Dharma could collect the messages independent of the network, add a topic line, and make a private collection for personal use using any text editor. So can any other member, meeting their personal needs personally. A much better approach, I believe.Private Reply to Ken Hilving |

Instead of spreading the SGMM posts across the discussion board, the idea was to have a single Point of reference for SGMM. Something like a subsection titled SGMM. There are no other changes necessary. And no denying the fact that the SGMM is of great value to everyone. Just wanted it to be under a one single umbrella
Making it sticky is a great idea as it allows everyone a link right in the beginning of the discussion threads.
