Some of you on this network have joined Aardvark. What do you think of the service? Have you taken it for a test drive? Did you ask a question and get it answered by a real person in under FIVE MINUTES? I think this service is "remarkable." That means it is "worthy to be remarked about." So, here I go:
If you have not taken Aardvark for a spin, please do so. But, in joining up with this free service, you should do more than simply ask questions, you should also be willing to put yourself out there as a expert regarding areas where you yourself can provide answers. In addition, you should make a conscious attempt to "seed" groups with folks who have expertise in areas where you might need answers yourself. Aardvark is unique in that here is a service that you can help design to meet needs which you yourself actually have.
I don't work for Aardvark. I am not an affiliate. But, I see an amazing "window of opportunity" here for town hall groups to maximize their efficiency. Parliamentary procedure is great - so long as it accomplishes something when all is said and done. But, just to do for the sake of doing it is worthless. Thanks to Aardvark you can take a cell phone into a town hall meeting and actually provide answers to questions when you have no idea who to ask for the answer. You simply text a message to Aardvark. How convenient. I am actually in the process of seeding a Aardvark group with folks I search out on Google to hopefully join Aardvark and my group for addressing questions about the Brown Act of California.
