Is Ryze sinking?Views: 679

Is Ryze slowly fading away? Six of the twelve networks I am member of, have stopped functioning, not to mention several others I deleted because they stopped functioning earlier.

Even on Fufa, which used to be a vibrant, cacophonous network, there is a deathly silence these days with only Soeb, Lalit and a couple of others trying to keep the flame alight.

What is it? Has the novelty of networking worn off? Have people become so busy in their own lives that they have no time for online networking? Or is it that people have no time for time pass any more? Is it because networking in Ryze hasn't delivered the business impetus that it promised? Is it that we could never translate the net friends into real life friends? Or is it that we DID translate them into real life friends and therefore do not need the network as a prop? But then how does one keep in touch with net friends who are not in your city or even country? Is an alternative emerging which is more attractive than Ryze?

I really will miss Ryze, specially the friends I made through it.

Precisely. May be I do not know how to use Facebook to best effect, but it doesn't enthuse me. Ryze was like an 'ADDA' (the Bengalis and those who know Bengal will understand).

a Big YES. not bcuz people have become busy or anything like that but mainly bcuz there are much better alternatives specially in terms of the user interface. i have made a lot of friends on Ryze but since we all have limited time to spend online i have slowed down on Ryze as alternatives like LInkedin, Facebook, IBN and Xing are proving to be more value adding at least for my business and personal requirement.

I think to revive FuFa we need a big ADDA, yani ke mixer. Get the people to come together for a mixer sometime soon. May be that will spark a neaw lease of life.

See Amit, you have to juggle so many different networks just to replace one RYZE!

Personally, I do not find Linkedin, Facebook or Xing appealing at a personal networking level. I do not know IBN.

Dear Basabda,

I fear even the mixer spirit is no longer active. I remember the last mixer we were supposed to have on 22nd Nov, I believe, which got cancelled due to Lalit himself being retained out of Mumbai for some reason. The response to that mixer was pathetic, to say the least. And even if Lalit would have made it, it would have been a shame to call that mixer a "Mini Mixer" too!

So, I guess you have hit it right....people no longer care for poor oldman Ryze.

Aaaaah!

- Maddy.

@Basab I think since we are emotional about Ryze we tend to wait for things to happen. But the current scenario is its the time to innovate of seriously perish for these online networks.

I dont need to juggle between networks as i use TweetDeck from one interface i manage twitter, facebook, linkedin + the major factor is to make online networking successful you gotta network with lot of new people so in a way one has to be driven to the sites which has loads of members (active) and traffic and certainly ryze is not one place where you get loads of new people coming in.

Ryze was my first online network so i am attached to it emotionally but practically for all my business networking reasons its a game over as far as i am concerned.

best thing would be to move FUFA outta RYZE to some other network and continue the success there

as in future .. economies of scale and lack of rapid innovation ryze will have to perish

Coming back to Ryze after months... thanks to Basabda for sending me a bd wish on that...

There is a huge difference between Ryze and FB and that is FB is all about you and there is hardly any "ADDA" or discussion on it. Soeb's daily history class on fb is kinda invigorating:)

But FB is here to stay as it helps you connect to a very large number of friends and network .. all on one page.

No Ryze will never sink in spite of some undead members like me.

I have found Ryze to be the best among all the networking sites. More so than Facebook.

From time to time I will resurrect from the dead. Once a Ryzer always a Ryzer.
