The Government is not doing anything to alleviate the situation however, and do you know why? Back in the 1970's when the Gas Companies wanted to raise prices, then President Carter stepped in and froze prices at the pump and there was a stonger cause to raise prices then, Gas was in short supply. Now, there are surpluses all over, in this country, Canada and Mexico. The Government refuses to release the fuel reserves and refuses to intervene in the gas companies and their profits. The reason being, ties to the gas companies and powerful lobbists in Washington. A major portion of the price you pay for gas goes for taxes. If the government was so concerned about the prices, they would remove these taxes. It would be fairer if they added a 2 cent tax to every dollar we spend for all other goods. They would still get their money and there would be the sticker shock at the pump. It is time for "Big Brother" to get involved. I say enough is enough, How about you? How will they affect you and how you do business? Will you be able to absorb these increases or are you planning to pass them on? What are your thoughts on this? John Snyder Prof Wordsearch

This compares to August of 2008, when local gas prices peaked at just over $4.00 per gallon. We're still $1.10 below that peak, or down 27% in the past year.
My understanding is that our gas prices are less than half that of the rest of the world. Can that be confirmed by some non-American Ryzers?
As for my business, it was way up when gas prices were high. Now that they're lower my business has fallen way off, but is slowly recovering.
