I do not exactly know why, but so many things with regard to business and commerce seem to seem to have their genesis or main focal point in New York City. When you think of the best dining experience in the world, what city comes to mind? Answer: New York. The State of New York does not even grow the food. But, it arrives fresh every day by truck like clockwork from New Jersey. When you think of live entertainment, what city comes to mind? Answer: New York. When you think money and finance, New York City is right there at the top. So, if a new innovation in education is to be introduced who do you expect to be among the first to jump on it? New York City, of course. On January 23rd, New York's Hilton Hotel is going to host the One Day University. And, this is not the first time such an event has been held in New York. Nevertheless, it represents an interesting shift in how the public gets educated. It's not simply a seminar deal or a trade show. It's a combination of both - involving award-winning teachers. If you are a business person who resides in or near New York City, you might want to do more than just show up on January 23rd to see what all the "buzz" is about. You might want to register as a vendor. Would you like to learn more about One Day University and register to be a vendor? Click here.

New York State pruduces many crops. It is one of the largest producers in the country.

Long Island still produces crops, though most corn and potato fields are gone.
New York City no longer produces an commercial crops, though we once lead the nation in many areas.
We do have many community gardens and one last working farm. The other working farm closed a few years ago.

That said, the Newtown Pipen is an Apple Tree being reintroduced to back yards.
In Forest Park there are also many wild foods that grow naturally.

Scott,

Thanks for the info. I used to live in Upstate Western New York. That's big apple country. Ate apples all the time. It's nice to hear a new kind of apple is being introduced in the New York City area.

On another note, I changed the link for the One Day University that is coming up on January 23rd at the New York Hilton Hotel. I never really took what the Learning Annex did very seriously. But, it looks like these folks are really innovating when it comes to teaching the public how to do things. Even Donald Trump is involved with them. If they ever were a small-time operation, they certainly are not small-time any longer.

The learning annex still not be taken seriously. The Trump thing just preys on the poor.

The Big Apple refers to qualifying to race your horse in NYC.

Like Frank said, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.

Scott,

What is meant by "If you can make it here (meaning New York) you can make it anywhere?" Is it harder or more expenive to do business in New York State than other states? What's the reason for that saying?

It is a tough town, with the best of the best. It is hyper-competitive.
You have one Thai place. My area has at least 12, the city has well over 2,000.

But I am talking about NYC, not the state.

Scott,

New York City has more than 2,000 Thai restaurants? That many? Are you sure? And, you have 12 just in your neighborhood? Out where I live we have just two in the entire county.
