After all creativity is constructing something that was not already seen and enjoyed, All the words in a language are already in the lexicon. The Genius like Shakespeare finds a new Combination of words. It could be a new concept or a new interpretation of the old concept. In the world of religiosity an agnost stands out like a sore thumb or acrobatic thinker. Almost twenty years back we made a film called KUBE MATTHU IYALA in Kannada. The moral of the story was "The one who denies "GOD" will end up as a God himself and there shall be a religion in his name as a punishment. The film was disliked by both. Yet we created a new set of compromise mongers.

At the age of 15 I was influenced by the speeches of E.V.Ramasamy Naicker from Erode of Tamilnadu whose main quotable quote was “If you meet Brahmin and a snake spare the snake“ and ….suggesting ‘Kill the Brahmin.’ I was born of Brahmin parents. My father a Gandhian named all his sons as ‘Hasans.’ My S.S.L.C book had an entry “Religion nil- Caste-Nil-Indian.’ When I finished my law in 1951 my results were withheld as under the Indian Constitution I had to declare my caste and religion for the state to decide whether I was entitled to any preference under the reservation schedules of the Indian Constitution in admission to education or state appointments. Finally I solved the issue by claiming to be born to Brahmin parents practicing no caste or religion myself.

After 63 years of logical thinking I believe that `God’ is a concept of human mind like a `Unicorn’ that its nonexistence in the objective material reality does give me the right to dismiss the concept itself. I have a 16 year old grandson who is a Marxist. The difference between him and me is that when God appears in person and convinces me that He does exist I shall gain new knowledge. My grandson believes that he can shoot God down with an AK 47 and prove His non-existence

charu anna,

well said. God is an alegory used by humankind and Religion is his adopted way of life.

But how can you shoot god to prove his non existance? when you shoot an entity, you prove that the entity had existed prior to your shooting and you have destroyed it rather.

It does not make sense..

Just like when I was young I asked my patti, what happens to the person who is present in a flowering plant when you pluck the flower off the plant.

Charu anna and ganesh,

After reading ganesh's reply, I went back and read charu anna's post again.. yup.. it has a meaning in whole another level.

Excuse this little girl for asking silly questions :)

I'm still learning and questioning with an open mind.

I remember seeing Marma desam vidaathu karuppu. The lead girl is determined to prove that karuppu is not god but a human split personality. Once karuppu got killed she is depressed that she destroyed people's belief that he was a savior and there might be bad deeds again. The priest tells her that the people believe that the whole sequence is god's deed and they believe that god will take some one else's form to save them. I felt that the story had so much indepth meaning.

On one hand, it is reality as we see and experience and other hand, it is the strong belief system that relates every happening to the supreme.

Yes anu... God being shot to death is inconcievable. Like any one's grandmother. It is a matter of emotional attachment.

Anu girl,
no one has ever asked silly questions. There have been "Supreme" silly replies. Has happened, is happening and will happen.

The point, like you have said is that, a strong belief system is personal. One's own personal belief cannot and IMHO should not, outweigh others.

That, the personal belief, is exactly what the word "KadavuL" means is the other opinion of mine.

I say that 'AsAmiyil mukkAldhAn sAmy" and those on the other side say as "AsAmiyil mukkAl sAmiyae".

I say that, if 100 or 1 is a kind of yardstick unit, then the tamil word AsAmi can be a factor of that while sAmi alone can never be a factor of that. While I hear others scream but without the 3/4 , the 1/4ths is nothing.
