Last evening I was traveling in a BEST bus and the bus was fully jam-packed like a butter packed between two slices of bread. There were all kinds of people in the bus, like potters salesmen executives others. My journey was an hour long as I was traveling from Parel to Lokhandwalla at Andheri. I was standing in the bus for almost 30 minutes, when an elderly man winked at me from his seat! He said: “Want a seat, as I am getting down the next stop?” I thanked my lucky stars for the seating experience which I will never forget. I sat next to a man smiling at me. He was almost 6’2” in height nicely dressed and wearing rainbow colored tie and very expensive coat and trousers. He had marble blue eyes and his face was like a foreigner. He also had a tremendous x-factor to match his personality. When he smiled his whole body was smiling. When I introduced myself I was shocked to find that he was Mr. Bill Clinton the former US President. “Hi, you come on an official visit?”—I asked. “No I just hopped to Bombay to promote my wife’s Hillary’s book. I also wanted to know the first hand report of the earthquake that struck Gujarat.” For the next thirty minutes time grew wings and passed off in a whiff! When I asked him as to why he was traveling in a BEST he said the US Consulate shifted from Breach Candy to Lokhandwalla Complex and it is so very nice and secure to travel among common folks in comparison to Z-security bullet proof cars for a change. Both us got down at Andheri we greeted each other and parted ways.
