Walt Williams | | We probably all know what a tag is. It is a word (or words) you would wish to have associated with your web site.
Does anyone know much about these new tag based opportunities? At least 3 new companies are selling tags on their social networks and then allow their members to 'resell' these tags to other members at a gain or loss. I know that sounds weird.
Here's a rough description. You are a member of xyz social network. They let you buy the word 'shoe' for a few bucks, perhaps ten dollars, not mega dollars. Then if a legitmate shoe manufacturer should ever wish to advertise on xyz network, you get a taste of that advertising revenue because they asked for the word 'shoe' in their search engine. Still sounds weird, huh?
Well, I thought perhaps some of you would understand it better than me. (These new networks also pay for other actions, not just tag sales.)
So who is our expert on that subject? Three of them are Kooday, CoolSearch (or words to that effect), and TagVillage. It sounds incredibly tricky, but kind of a fun game atmosphere where shrewd traders are making some significant dollars in the first two that I mentioned. The third one just started this last week or so.
