Oflate, there is more news regarding assault on women. Even elevators don't seem to be safe. Are there really more assaults now or are such incidents getting reported only now? Is the family planning at home the reason? The good news is that there might be lesser "assaults" at home!

Over the ages the weakness or the vulnerability of women has always been used to their advantage truly and quite very effectively !!!
Citing a true example there is a personal case where a woman sent over 60 messages to a friend of mine knowing he was married which got him into a lot of trouble...Did we go running to the media etc ???? ..No ..why because we realized the damage it could do to her reputation just because of a few moments of delirious attraction and instead sorted it out by discussing the issue all together !!!! Inspite of my repeated requests to my friend to allow me to throw a cauliflower at her head !!! He reasoned with me and after mutual consultation I realized he was right ....THAT JUST THROWING A CAULIFLOWER WOULDNT BE SUFFICIENT !!!!!
and now wait Kumar !!!! the womens brigade will start !!!!

These same women after having done their job of humiliating, harassing and teaching men a lesson using the law, that in the first place was a concession given to them considering their apparent handicap, will have their last laugh in private. Does this not amount to blackmailing? But now the men who allowed this preferential treatment by not asking for fair (gender neutral) laws are the victims, not the women who cry wolf. I wouldn't be surprised if behind or beyond all this obtrusive cacophony, some parties are happening, for having done a great job!
The new subject of debate now is what is appropriate behavior in work place? Appropriate behavior for whom? Only men? Whose word one will take on allegations of inappropriate conduct, and inappropriate in whose mind and by whom?
I know a well placed woman once accused her male colleague of being rude, when it was simply that she couldn't stand his assertive communication to get work done. Who knows she could have made a case of sexual harassment for that.
Women seem to expect more than fair / professional treatment from their male colleagues, whenever it suits them and at their whims. This is what many times lead to misjudgment from men and then branded as sexual harassment, rape and so on.
What about women who do the same in workplace to men? R V saying that these overtures happens only from men's side towards women, an emphatic NO. It is simply that our society is conditioned to accept a kind of conduct from one gender and not the other, and believe one's words against the other. I am not saying that men are puritans but so is the case with women.
Rape itself has to be defined in a gender neutral way. If women feel sexually harassed by looks and gestures from men, what about the converse?
Also it is possible that there are men who will use women willing to allow laws in their favor to be used through them.
Just because there is media and other forms of activism to portray one as the devil and the other as the angel, realities don't change. I wont be surprised if in the anxiety to avoid such potential controversies, men will keep off women as far as possible particularly in work place that could lead to another form gender discrimination.
