Thanks a lot to you, the first lot of 4 members in 'WE CARE FOR CHENNAI'. I started with my usual "Who is going to respond so quickly, anyway" approach? Surprising that less than 24 hours, I've found 4 interested persons, dropping into this Network. I am sure you would have got disappointed, finding it empty. WE CARE FOR CHENNAI is to realize and progpagate the need to keep it sane enough as a living geographical entity. WE CARE FOR CHENNAI need not limit itself to a virtual Group. WE CARE FOR CHENNAI's top priorities could be these: 1. Road Sense and Sanity 2. Reducing public apathy to community (public)utilities 3. Eternal vigilance to protect pubic interests I would like this NETWORK to cross at least 500 members in the next 3 month. This 500 should consist of Architects,Business Professionals pursing different businesses, Computer Professionals, Doctors, Educationists, Engineers,Finance Management Professionals,Film World Personalities and Professionals,Journalists,Health Care Professionals, Industrialists and Business Owners,Information Technologists, Lawyers,Photographers and Photo-journalists,Public Speakers,Public Administrators,Road Construction Specialists,Sales & Marketing Professionals,Scientists, Transportation Specialists,Urban Town Planners and Writers. Have I left anybody? Not intentionally. Because we require every identifiable talented volunteer to join this effort. In short, every CHENNAI road user with a sense of righteous indignation is a potential volunteer in this Group. WE CARE FOR CHENNAI should not become another arm-chair group, lamenting at the ills of the society and expressing frustration with the refrain, "Nothing big is going to happen by just a few people joining hands". I hasten to add here that there should not be any scope for politicians in one or other colour trying to take a vantage position in WE CARE FOR CHENNAI with a political agenda, while politicians, as a class need not be kept out. For launching immediate action with the objective of giving a shape to this Group, I would like to wait till 100 members join this Group so that we can be sure of "Business Continuity", irrespective of who is there or not.
