Hello fellow chennai loving people !

Yes I love chennai too and some of the problems mentioned here are age old problems , by age old I mean alteast 2 decades

so if at all I mean the stress On the "if at all" we are to find a solution we need to follow radical steps ...truly radical !

Lets take the case of traffic chaos

1) people need to be educated ...yes education alone cannot prevent traffic offenders from doing it again but education will also need to be done. I will touch on this point after wards.

2) In tamil we have a very famous saying ..."nee arrukum theriyadu neenaikatha mela errukera kadavuluku kandipa theriyum" Yes lets start playing on this so called fear ..

3) The british system always had suited India. Pity they left India too soon !! :D. ok I'm just kidding.. Now when I went to London I was amazed to see cameras everywhere , In every nook and corner .. WOW ! and people said it reduced crime rate to a great extent !

Ok now back to Indian roads...

Reality Check

4) a black and white logitech cheapy camera.. about Rs 1K

5) an assembled black and white monitor computer system less than10K

6) and the paraphranelias another 5K..

You know within 15K we can install "GOD" (see point 2 :D) in every traffic junction ..I mean this set can be installed in the so called "traffic offender prone zones" and what are the advantages

7) continuously monitor traffic and in the case of a traffic jam ...we can pinpoint the offender

8) Use this as part of training videos(see point 1 above) which we can screen from time to time again in localities where our beloved truck drivers or auto drivers or bus drivers reside where people can watch them and hey sometimes learn too ! and they can even say ...hey see that is me the hero of this film ..see how I drive fantastically and block the traffic for atleast an hour !

9) ok jokes apart

when this same logitech camera can be used to photograph people for issuing driving licenses and when this same logitech camera can be used to photograph the license plate of vehicles during emisson tests ..That means they are valid proofs and will be accepted in any court of law.. so In case of a traffic accident or repeated traffic offenders , this can be used as proof ... and this leads us again to point 2 above and also this should not be used only as a vindictive weapon instead education and making of training videos should be given priority .

Lets allocate just 2 hrs a week maybe on a saturday ... to discus issues which are pressing and address them one by one .. But please remember that these issues are all many decade old issues which face the chennai residents and why these issues are still there ? Because NONE of the old methods have worked so far ... and we need to invent and re invent the wheel to solve these problems..

Good luck fellow chennaiites !

Oh btw I know 15K is expensive for each setup, so the next step is to reduce the cost and there are umpteen ways to do it either use second hand parts , sponsorships etc

Also yes I do not have answers to all the questions and practicality

for example I do not know whether it it is even legal for a private entity to install cameras in public road junctions...any legal help will be appreciated
