Dear All,
Sometimes I get the feeling that my mind is flooded with different kinds of thoughts at the same time. This has not happened with me before but lately when I am thinking on working on something, suddenly my mind wanders off thinking about so many different things that I delay what I started of doing.
The thought process just triggers off.
Anybody else has faced a similar situation?
Any "Thoughts" on how to organize your thoughts?

Happens all the time! I finally downloaded a program called Mind Manager. It's a mind mapping program. It has done wonders. The only problem is sometimes I am out without access to my computer so you'll see me frantically writing on bits of paper which I later take home and add to my mind manager LOL They give you a free 30 day trial but the actual program is kind of expensive I think...I will probably end up purchasing it though. I believe the link is www.mindjet.com if anyone is interested.

First of all, I have found a day planner where I can make notes on the side, and I use this space for a "to do" list. What I don't get done, I add to the chores for the next day. It helps me because I don't want to have to write that chore again for tomorrow, so I try to get it done. It is a long list, though, since I write down every little thing, such as who I need to email, plus household chores, etc. Everything that comes to mind gets writen down, and some days, I have to skip things because they don't fit on the page!

The other thing I keep handy is a 3-ring binder which is full of dividers - about 4 packs full. I keep track of EVERYTHING in there. Email addy's, URL's, which spices I've used in my spice of the month club, what movies we rented at the library, etc. My memory has really gone off somewhere since I had my daughter, so I find this binder really helps.

Another thing I have had to start doing is dividing my chores by days. For example, this being Monday means it's my laundry day. I hate doing laundry so I really have to force myself sometimes, since it is so easy to get distracted from this one! Tuesday is dusting and mirrors/windows. Wednesday is pet day (cleaning cages, tanks, blankets and brushing the dogs, etc), Thursday I do the floors/rugs. Friday is bathroom/tidy bedroom. I just find this easier to deal with.

I find that I have to TELL myself to concentrate on what I am doing and having a good routine like this helps me a lot. Of course, there are distractions, like when my mother calls and wants to spend the afternoon shopping. I just catch up as soon as I can. I don't let myself get into the trap of it "has to" be done. It's okay to be late or even skip something for today - tomorrow is another day!
