I'm wondering if someone can point us in the right direction?
Some of you may know about our month long celebration and the huge give-a-way we are doing through a fund raising effort. Another Ryzer, Kathy Browning, has just completed a slide show as a viral marketing tool. We are tryng to figure out:
1. How can we make it load automatically as a slide show?
2. Can we somehow convert it into a flash movie that can be passed around?
Right now, as is, it's a 3MB file which is not good for viral email marketing.
We appreciate any help!
Namaste,
Barbara C. Phillips, NP

What format is the slideshow in now?
I can create Flash movies. As a viral tool, you typically don't want to send that actual file, but rather send a link to the file so dial up customers aren't inconvenienced by a large email attachment.

Scott Stratten, moderator of the Un-Marketing forum, specializes in doing exactly what you're talking about--viral marketing via flash movies.
Might want to check him out. His website is www.un-marketing.com.

The slide show is in powerpoint.
We now have it so it loads immediately as a show. It's about 3mb in size and we would like to get it down so it's easily passed around, which is why we thought of flash.
Thanks!

If you want a cheap and fast way to convert Powerpoint to Flash, download Open Office ... it is a free office suite compatible with MSOffice formats, but allows you to export Powerpoint to Flash (as well as Word/Excel to PDF). It is a large download, but available for free from www.openoffice.org
The only downside is, the slideshow only progresses when you click on a frame. To create a slideshow that automatically advances, has animations or requires a user interface (i.e. "Next slide" buttons), then you likely want someone who can replicate the Powerpoint presentation in Flash. It's not too big of a job is you're only looking for a basic slideshow and already have a presentation to work from.

Robin Good has an article where he reviews the various tools for converting
PowerPoint to Flash. He also includes pricing.
