Does anyone have suggestions for me?

I have a wedding-related business and get leads through my bridal show booths and a variety of print advertising that I'm doing, as well as enquiries vie email, my website and phone enquiries from interested bries.

I've spoken with a few friends who are also in the wedding industry hoping they can 'shed some light' on successful systems they use to track all their leads ... and they all seemed to have the same challenge!

I need to be able to track each lead a variety of ways. Here are just some of them:
a) 3 months before their wedding
b) by name
c) by wedding date
d) dates to follow-up
e) by birthday

Anyone have any suggestions?

Outlook a MS Office product. I love it. You can set up reminders to contact people with it. It is fab!

Hi Rena,

Basically any type of computer "lead tracking" software will help you.

Outlook, Access, Goldmine (I'm sure there are others)

A good client tracking software will allow you to put in a formula to bring up the clients that fits the information you need from your database.

For example, I worked with Goldmine a lot with one company I used to work for. The salesmen would come to me and tell me what they were looking for in the leads. I would punch in the formula (Company this size...employees of this amount...sales of this type, or amount...area...etc), then the list fitting the exact search criteria would pop up.

I would do some research on the internet to find the best client management software of today...based on price and what it does for you. There are quite a few out there now, I'm sure you will find one that suites your needs perfectly.

Hello Rena,

I'd suggest using some of the functionality of Outlook - you can set reminders and sort on a variety of fields. You could take a look at Access to create a database that would give you the same functionality. You might some technical support in getting this set-up for you.

Tools like Goldmine and ACT are contact management systems that offer a lot more functionality. I use Outlook to manage all my contacts and leads.

Let me know if you'd like more specifics.

I use ACT! and I love it. It's very user friendly and you can set reminders for each contact, and the software tracks your history, which is crucial for keeping track of what you've already done with a particular contact.
