I agree that you have to stand for something, but do you have to necessarily insult your audience to make sales? I'm not a fan at all of Halbert or "The Rich Jerk". Too low brow and "get rich quickish". Jay Abraham's style is over the top, but I've gotten value from his ideas.

Jay describes it as, "it's better to be loved or hated than tolerated." Polarization can build loyalty.

Alot of other authors and "gurus" don't take this route at all. Seth Godin, Jay Levinson, Roy Williams and the Wizard of Ads, Al Ries, and the list goes on. And they seem to be just as successful.
