Working Around The Holidays.

As the holiday season approaches you find yourself getting
busy with outside work and finding less and less time to
attend to your business. It is also a busy time for your
business when people will be buying more, which also puts a
strain on your time. it is very important not to neglect
your business at this busy time of year.

The 3 key to overcoming this problem is:

· Organization

· Automation

· Outsourcing

Organization is critical to the success of your business.
Plan ahead and set your goals. Make a daily schedule at the
close of business for the following day and a weekly
schedule at the end of each week for the upcoming week.
This will help you keep organized and focused. Try not to
get side tracked and keep yourself concentrating on the
immediate task in hand. Write down your weekly and daily
lists print them out and put them in a prominent place.
Check off each completed task as you complete. This will
give you a sense of purpose and achievement.

Automate your business as much as possible.

· Program your email client to put emails into folders and
spam into junk folders. Outlook express and Eudora can
easily be set up to do this.

· Use an autoresponder to write to your lists. These are
cheap to rent and simple to use. Proautoresponder is very
user friendly with a good tracking system and video option

· Make an automated payment system Paypal is free and easy
to set up. It also has a shopping cart and subscription
feature.

Outsource tasks whenever budget allows. This will save you
a lot of time. Programming jobs, web designing, article
writing and promotion to name just a few. If you are good
at something then go ahead and do it yourself but if you
find a task difficult rather than spending hours of time
hire someone to do it.

If you sell hard goods try to find a reliable drop shipper
to handle your order delivery. Although you will be paying
some of your profits initially it will be worth it long
term, as you will be able to build your business more
quickly. With the increase of customers you will overcome
drop shippers fees. Automate your payment system by setting
up a shopping cart (Yahoo Stores) Have a FAQ list attached
to your autoresponder for quick solutions to customers
problems. Put thank you letters and mailers on your
autoresponder system. You can automate all your email
marketing like this.

Working around holiday schedules is never easy but once you
organize your time you will find it easier. Certainly their
will be times when unexpected events crop up and this will
disrupt your schedule but try to find a moment to make up
the time and try not to let tasks build up.
