The most overlooked technique in getting affiliate sales is focusing on the click. Your goal should be to get as many targeted visitors as you can to click throughs to the program you are promoting.
This is very important. Many people make the mistake of trying to do the selling on their site, rather than focusing on getting the click.
What's the difference I hear you say?
First and foremost many sites and the sales pages on it have been rigorously tested and optimized to get the highest sales conversion. some sites sell. This means you DON'T have to.
The key is for you to provide quality content and information, and by doing so you'll achieve the following:
1. You'll get more clicks
2. Your sales conversions will soar because you've primed the visitor ready to be sold when they arrive at the site you are promoting.
So just focus on getting the click, and they'll take care of the rest. Please don't underestimate the power of focusing on getting the click. I guarantee you'll be more successful if you let the site do the selling.
What you want is for your visitors to be *READY* to be sold when they arrive at a site - and that's what you'll achieve when you focus on getting the click.
Put it another way...
It's the difference between receiving fat or wafer thin commission checks. Which would you prefer? - silly question I know :)
Getting Targeted Click Throughs- 'You can't be all things to all people' Targeting is the route to your success...
This is *THE* most important thing I'll discuss. Most services or products sell so well because they decided to focus on the main specialty. Why is this important for you to know?
Three reasons...
1. I want you to understand why affiliates maintain and enhance their credibility when they recommend a site to a audience.
2. Surprisingly, by being more targeted you get *MORE* clicks - not less
3. Your sales conversion rates soar (i.e. the percentage of click throughs to sales increases) which means you make more money!
Here's why...
Making sure your visitors immediately know if a site and service are for them or not, actually increases your click throughs. Plus it prevents non-service people from needlessly clicking through to any site.
Just picture this for a moment...
Let's say you own a Mercedes car. You are looking through your local newspaper and read an advertisement with the headline saying...
'How To Get 100 More Miles Out of Every Tank Of Gas'
Now if you're interested in economizing on your fuel I'm sure you'd be interested, in fact, interested enough that you decide to send for the details.
Unfortunately when the information arrives you find that it only applies to people running small family cars. Mercedes cars simply aren't discussed.
Now you'd probably be disappointed, maybe even angry that you weren't told it didn't apply to every type of car.
This is what it's like if one of your visitors reaches a site (and YOURS for that matter!) and discovers it's not relevant to THEM.
It's like doing a keyword search on one of the Internet Search Engines and getting non-relevant sites coming up - it's very frustrating!
That's the downside, but let's look at the upside.
A week later you're looking through your newspaper again and come across another ad with the headline.
'Mercedes Owners: How To Get 100 More Miles Out of Every Tank Of Gas.'
Now I guarantee you and many, many other Mercedes owners would be very interested in receiving this information. You know this is for you (because you drive a Mercedes) and it compels you to reply and to reply quicker.
Better still...
Where as in the first ad, only a handful of Mercedes owners may have applied for details, I guarantee a much higher percentage of Mercedes owners would be interested in this more "targeted" offer.
And that's what happens when you target more effectively. You'll get more relevant people clicking through to the sites you promote - because they know it's for them.
The result? Increased sales and more commission for you!
Your site may already be focused on people operating service or product businesses. If that's the case your site is already highly targeted. However, your click throughs will still increase when you use my simple techniques.
Conversely your site may have a mixed audience of people who sell services and others who sell products. It's more important for you to ensure you only get the clicks from those in need of the product or service.
There's a very important lesson to be learned here. The more focused you are on the types of customers/visitors you want, the easier it is to grow your on-line and/or off-line business.
Giving Visitors What They Want - Not What We THINK They Want. This is the key to increased click throughs and more sales.
You may wonder why I've stated this with highlights. Actually what I'm about to reveal will help you get the click as often as possible from the right people (your overall goal remember).
For the last 29 years I've been getting 'inside the heads'of hundreds of service providers. All of your products and services should have been developed to meet the wants and needs of them. That's important for you to know.
What I've found was that almost no one was developing sales and marketing tools or products specifically for service or product businesses.
What is the main problem with your current sales and marketing program? Here's what is boils down to...
No plan/strategy..........37.0% No expertise..............12.6% New business..............9.1% Increase customer base....8.7% Small budget..............7.8% Can't generate leads......7.8% Don't convert.............6.5% Low price competition.....4.3%
Question: What are your top three marketing goals?
Get more clients..........19.4% Increase profits..........14.5% More sales................14.2% New leads.................13.6% Name awareness............7.5% Retaining clients.........5.8% Increase market share.....4.6% Close more sales..........3.2%
first and Secondly (and not surprisingly) they want more clients, more profits, more sales, and more leads. So how can you use this information?
Clearly I've used this information to optimize the sales on my site. So here's how you can do it - remember you're looking for the click not the sale...
See how easy this is? You're focusing on what product or service providers want and then you give them a solution. This is a great way for maximizing your click throughs.
There are literally hundreds of different ways for you to use this information. Armed with this information you can maximize your click throughs. Plus it will also help to keep you focused on what people want rather than what you think people want.
The difference this will have on your sales and your commission checks will be significant. Give it a try you'll be surprised at the results!
