A hotel has ADSL connection, and has provided network points in guest rooms so guests can connect their laptops to surf the internet.
I need a software which can track usage of internet by various nodes, and generate bills for the internet usage based on time / bandwidth. The software should be flexible enough to let the admin configure it as per his requirements (eg: set slabs and rates for surfing, special rate for nights and holidays, etc.)

Ali - I have done a lot of research on google. And I have contacted lots of companies who have software for cybercafe. Unfortunately, though the requirements are almost similar, there r differences.
For starters, I don't expect guests to be willing to install a client software to enable them to log in and surf the internet. Also, I don't expect the guest to pay up after every session. Rather, this total bill should be generated on CHECKOUT.
Any ideas?

then i would suggest to go for a software for monitoring. this software may be installed on server only.
once a laptop is connected to network, server will make a log of login time and logout time.
on checkout you may claculate etimre log timing and charge. this may require a bit mannual work, but it would be very cost effective.
this software may have more features to make tasks automated.
