Hello Fellow Un-Marketers:

Some of you know I started a website a couple months ago called http://www.GreatIdeasforWomenOver40.com It's basically a site full of blogs with a myriad of topics like:

* Starting a Business for Women Over 40

* Falling and Staying in Love

* Spirituality for Women Over 40

* Staying Healthy for Women Over 40

* Money Management

* Fun Travel

* Family and Relationship Tips

* Online Business Success

* Positive Living

... and much, much more.

I'm looking for writers who would be interested in submitting articles in one or a couple of these categories.

I'm interested in mostly women writers but I'll happily accept articles from men who are comfortable writing about topics of interest to women. Check out the site first (there's nothing for sale there - the resources are all free) and find out if there's a blog there that would help you to showcase your expertise and your business.

If you'd like to find out more send an email to me at denisemm@helloworld.com and I'll send you my writers guidelines for article submission. The first month I had this website operating I got 7,961 visitors to the site - so the pinging is paying off. Writers get a "resource box" at the end of each article so that readers can link to you through your website, blog or email address.

I'm only interested in putting up high-quality content that helps women grow in many facets of their lives.

All the best,

Denise Michaels

Here's why I think articles are so great for un-marketers:

Back in June of 2005 I attended the Internet Marketing Super Conference held here in Las Vegas every year. It's a very intensive four day seminar - I've attended the last three out of five years. (After about day three it sort of makes your eyeballs roll a bit *LOL* Wonderful, helpful information, tho.) It's all about the internet marketing strategies that are getting results for people who do business online.

While a couple years ago it was all about ezines - this year the interest was all about content sites. Having a content site - because people are drawn to information - but also contributing your content (in the form of articles) to different content sites around the internet and then driving traffic back to you because people want to find out more about you.

Since posting the above information about my "Great Ideas for Women Over 40" site and how to get articles on it, I've gotten some great replies from people and I'd love to see more. I'd love to send you my "Writer's Guidelines for Article Submissions."

My greatest concern is that the info in your articles is of high quality - not a bunch of hype. I'm interested in content that truly is helpful to people. I also want to make sure that your article is the right length (pretty short), format, etc. Not too tricky really. Chances are you may already have articles that you've written before - this would be a chance to make those articles work for you again.

The "Writer's Guidelines for Article Submissions" is a Word document and an attachment - so send an email to me at denisemm@helloworld.com Please don't send me a private message on ryze for this - I can't attach anything to a private message. *wink*

Have a super day and I wish you great success in 2006.

Yours in abundance, success and fun,

Denise,

I whole heartedly agree with what you say about content. I often (almost daily) write press releases for my clients and do my best to study what gets these releases printed in publications. I find that the ones that tell stories, just like an article get printed most often. Theses sometimes get printed word-for-word or nearly word-for-word, especially in online media.

Those press releases that less about telling a story but are more informing about the customer themselves or some aspect of what my clients have to offer normally will, over time, get an article written about the client, either where they are the focus of the article or with them as the "expert", but if you want to get your press more immediately, go for the story telling tact.

For me, it is important to make sure that both of these methods are used. But I recommend to people who don't have lots of time to spend on this to follow exactly what you said. Spend your time on content. Build a story. Especially if it has news angle to it!

Best regards,

Gary Dale Cearley

Hi Gary:

That's a great tip! Hey, if storytelling works for the Bible and countless books - both fiction and non-fiction - why wouldn't it work for our articles and promotional pieces.

I also have a lot of people (ezine publishers, etc.) who ask me for "Top 10 Tips" or "7 Secrets" kind of articles. Have you had experienced with getting those kinds of articles published online?

All the best,

Denise Michaels

PS: I'm looking for 4 special women to mentor (as a group) who know they need help in marketing. Are you holding back from success - but don't know what to do about it? Send me a PM. Tell me how you would like to change and grow your business in 2006. Tell me what you would do if you KNEW you could not fail.

Denise,

It's odd that you ask...

I have been working on a "10 Things CEO's Need to Know" article right now with one of my clients. These are real eye catchers. The format hasn't been fully fixed, meaning I haven't decided whether to use only my client, which is a bigger bang for their company, or to add two more experts, which will greatly increase the likelyhood of getting into print.

I am interested and able to help people with these press releases and articles if they need.

Best regards,

Gary Dale

Gary-

Here's a thought for your "10 Tips" article Can you get two other experts that compliment or specify your clients product or services. This way your client isn't competing with others but instead is enhanced by the other experts.

In my experience on the direct marketing side of the world, this works.

Just my 2¢.

Gary Dale Cearley
Patrick,

I do this but I also know that sometimes I have to make the article about a current event to get a higher hit of publishing. But having two to three different people quoted have always helped with the success rate.
