Tj says: "Whatcha looking at?" | | 1.5 kgs chicken wings
Marinade 3 Tbsp garlic powder 1 large onion, finely minced 3 Tbsp soy sauce 3 tsp. Worchestershire sauce 1/4 Cup olive oil 3 Tbsp honey 2 tsp. hot sauce, such as Tabasco® 1/2 Cup dark rum
First Prepare the Wings Prepare chicken wings by cutting off wing tips and separating the wing at the elbow joint.
Then...Mix all marinade ingredients together. Place wings into several extra large plastic zipper bags. Pour marinade over wings. Marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Grill wings over a medium-hot grill for about 8-10 minutes per side or until completely cooked and dark brown, carefully baste once or twice during cooking.

iitiim | | Heres one:
Old monk Cake:
Serves 1 person. You'll need - 1/2 ltr of old monk One 1/2KG (pref chocolate) cake Soda/Coke/Thumbs Up/Water Ice 1 Glass 1 Knife
Pour 60ml of old monk in glass. add 4 cubes of ice. fill glass with Soda/Coke/Thumbs Up/Water. let it sit awhile.
while your glass chills. use knife to cut cake into 8 odd pieces.
eat cake and sip ur drink. Time ur self in such a way that you have 1 piece every drink. If you have been pouring out exactly 60ml per drink you'll have a OM little left at teh end. DRINK THIS FROM THe BOttle.

IAN PEREIRA (Advtg and Industrial Photographer) | | Hi,
Unfortunatley with Ashish's recipes you are likely to recover from your ailment and have a bad hangover the next day.
As far as the remedy for coughs and colds is concerned, the recipe is on the Comrade homepage.
If one is into baking cakes then you can either add a few tablespoons to the batter or after it is baked pierce some holes with a small stick and sprinkle Rum.
If you intend making a nice fruit cake, you should soak the fruit in Rum for at least 15 days. Add some Rum to the batter too. Awesome.

Onkar Singh Plaha | | Hi Ian,
Talking about health, I know of a recipe that improves health and vitality. Goes like this:
To a glass of lukewarm milk, add one tablespoon of sugar and 60 ml. Old Monk. Stir and drink quickly 5 to 10 minutes before going to bedroom. This works guys.
How does it work ? Well, the milk gives you vitality, sugar gives you energy and 'The Great Old Monk' gives away the secrets of what to do with both.
Cheers, Onkar Singh. Private Reply to Onkar Singh Plaha |

iitiim | | Onkar,
ur recipe reminds me of the kind of drink they served at the moloko bars, in Anthony Burgess' novel The Clockwork Orange. And going by Alex's experience in the novel... the people drinking that cocktail usually end up doing some really nasty things....hmmm
will try Private Reply to iitiim |
Jun 17, 2006 7:19 pm | | This one is called the Mehkikan Kik | # |
# # | | and spelled as The Mexican Kick
Description : Black Coffee and Old Monk (aka BC and OM aka BCOM aka Buk Chodi and Old Monk etc) it is quite a phenomenon.
Ingredients Coffee powder (nothing beats fresh ground but if nothing else is available then Nescafe Instant would do) 1.5tsp . Hot Water : to top up Sugar : to taste (it's important to add sugar)
Method. Make a mugful of black coffee and add sugar. Pour out an equal quantity of OM in a glass tumbler. Alternate sips.
Logic: the sugar maintains what I call suroor. The coffee stops the hiccups. And the hot water gives a quick kick.
Best when:: while on discussion (hence buk chodi).

I guess, my humble introduction to OM happened early in life- in the Officer Messes in remote areas of the country. Am now looking all over for it in stores in USA!
Any leads from anyone on the group?Private Reply to Shivani Chaturvedi |
