In spirituality texts, there is much discussion on teaching people not to "look back" such as Lot's wife in the Bible, and in a modern film "Spirited Away", a little girl is told to not look back and keep her sights on the path in front of her, and then she has her heart's desire. So, my question is: Can we block our prosperity from finding us, if we are looking behind us and analyzing our past actions? I had a situation happen in which this became very real for me. I'm interested in your thoughts. Take care, Alison Private Reply to Alison Wilcox | Apr 07, 2006 8:40 pm | | re: question regarding "Looking Back" | # | Kathy Browning | | Hi Alison,
Believe it or not, I experienced this same thing earlier today. A situation recently occured that I have been feeling guilty about. In reality, I know there is no reason for me to feel guilty, but it was a bad situation that I wish had never had to happen.
The thing is, I've had similar situations occur in the past, so I decided I better have a long talk with myself and find out why I keep creating these dramas. What is the root of the matter?
I realized that every single person I have ever had a major problem with are people who are not being true to themselves. Lightbulb! There have been many times in my life where I have not lived my truth. Because of a series of events, I have fallen back into that trap and I don't like it.
When I am not being true to myself and attempting to be what everyone else expects me to be, then I block my prosperity. I'm so busy focusing on what I need to make everything comfy cozy for everyone else, that I forget ME.
I think the only way to move forward IS to analyze your past actions so that you can rewire those thoughts that are holding you back. Sometimes you have to dig deep and re-open a wound in order for it to fully heal. This prosperity stuff isn't always easy to get through, but it's worth it!
Many Blessings,

So...if there is No Past, how can we "Look Back"?
It is the same with "The Future". It does not exist.

That really helps. Just like peeling the layers off of an onion, I am feeling that I am shedding layers of my past consciousness. This was a new lesson for me this week. Take care, Alison Private Reply to Alison Wilcox | |
