Ok here is my problem. I am an online party hostess and I host an average of 5 parties a week right? So I have a mailing list that I use to invite my guests. I dont want to post to groups to advertise the parties because I just have too many and dont want to bog up the groups with my parties. When I first started doing these parties, my guest turnout was pretty good. I have an average of 10 guests at most parties. Well lately, I am lucky to get one guest atttend my parties. I host parties for others so I host for different companies. I think the reason for the declining guests is because I always invite the same people and they are tired of attending all the time. So now that I told you the long of it....my question is....How do I get more guests??? Thank you in advance for your help!

Have you considered giving a Skypecast to reach a new audience? It is conducted via Skype. Your event listing is posted in a directory for the entire Skype community to view. Skypecasts are still in the infant stage but you can pull in people.

I gave a 15 minute test event yesterday. I had 5 people wander in to talk to me within one minute of posting my event. I plan to give daily Skypecasts for women who want to introduce their company and discuss how to use Skypecasting to promote their companies.

Hi Deana,

It sounds like you are in a little bit of a conundrum however it can be fixed rather easily. When you host your parties do you have games during them? What do you offer your guests while they are at these parties? Do you have any incentives if someone attends?

A few of the WAHMs that are my clients have invited me to their parties and I have gone just to see what's happening during them. It gives me a break from my daily routine too, so that always helps. Anyway, one of the ladies is quite good and usually get many invites because of how she does it I think at least. She starts out by giving her attending guests that evening ONLY a high discount on their orders they wouldn't get on the web site.

Also she has had games where everyone plays things like scramble; the letters are scrambled, first person who unscrambles it gets a prize. I've seen some that do treasure hunt where a box is hidden on a web site and they have to go looking for it. There was one party I was at that had a game where a short question was asked and the women had to go out and look for the question on the Internet. First person who came back with the answer won. That was kind of fun; I was even getting into that one. LOL!

Anyway. You can have prizes from things like dollars off total order (10 off, 20 off, 25 off, etc); free gift; gift set; there's many things that you can do for prizes and work with your inventory.

The whole idea is to have fun with your parties and give incentives for others to come into them. The other thing is, you may want to really consider picking one of your mailing lists (one message board) and advertising on it only each time you hold a party. A thought could be where if that person gives someone a referral to you and the referral purchases an item, they get so much off of their next order.

Most businesses have the clause "a gift certificate must be used seperately and cannot be used with any other sale" or something to that affect so they do not loose money. If you'd like, I would be happy to talk with you more and give you some ideas with what you're selling. I do this a lot with my clients and their stores. Feel free to email me off list.

I wish you the best of luck! Have a great weekend!

Jerrilynn- I checked out the Skypecast idea. Seems complicated but I am sure once I get the hang of it, it'l be easy.

Sue- Yes I offer an incentive to attend the party and I always play a game.

I'm confused about this Skype, what exactly is it. I mean is it something thats online or on the phone? To me, the description is rather vague or at least confusing. When a person wants to join, it's saying on the board that you have to download it as well.

Consider me as a consumer and playing devil's advocate for a moment. Why should I as a consumer download another product just to get information from you on what you're selling? I read your website but I don't have time (or space on my computer) to download another program so what's the benefit?

I understand what you're wanting to do but what I'm not seeing is the concept of the product download for the consumers to hear information of a product/service they may/or may not purchase. Sure it could be well worth it, don't get me wrong but then again there could be others disappointed that can give you headaches that aren't needed/wanted.

Skype is a free instant messenger with several options.
One is the user can call another user or any phone.
Skype also allows for conferencing using text voice and video.

Deana,
I have found a system in the last month that has really helped me generate activity in my downline. If you look it over (sign up for a free 10 day "Boot Camp", I bet you'll see that it will help you develop a solid list of new people to invite to your events. Click the link in my signature for details.

:) My goodness.. I haven't heard that in at least 5 yrs or more. The last time I heard that was when I was leaving a friend's house they jokingly said, "Elvis has left the building". *chuckle*
