Is Outsourcing Right For You?Views: 710

I just read a very interesting article on outsourcing. It validated my own business by listing all of the ways a good site selection company can help improve a company's meeting.

So I'm curious. When I make initial contact with a company or association that has been doing their own site selection, it is almost impossible to convince them that outsourcing is beneficial. I list all of the ways that HB can assist them and yet more times than not, I'm told that they are not interested.

I'd be interested in hearing from others who have had this experience. How did you convince potential clients to outsource through you?

Hi Melodieann,

If you are presenting your company's services the same way their website does, I am not surprised.

You need to present the benefits before the features.
Get the "hook" in early by telling them something that would enhance their event. Things that a non professional organizer would not think of.

Are you cold calling or are you talking to companies that contact you?

Hi Melodieann,

I can understand your dilemma. As outsourcing has evolved and matured over the years most businesses have become very adept at benchmarking the outsourcing process. Potential clients want to see a quantitative and tangible ROI. Your ability to communicate this ROI is going to be critical to your ability to bring new clients onboard.

As a virtual assistant I provide administrative outsourcing services and have found that I'm endlessly educating potential clients on the benefits of outsourcing in general and specifically with my company.

Assuring you have an effective "elevator speech" or other method to "get your foot in the door" and gain your audiences attention is key. Selling your services is just like any other type of sales, it's all in overcoming objections and motivating them to take action.

I prefer to take a proactive approach to this. I have compiled a small informational package that highlights how exactly I can assist them and the benefits to utilizing my services over those of an inhouse employee. The benefits I have highlighted address the common misconceptions and objections associated with outsourcing of this nature.

Also be sure you spread your contact out don't provide them with a too much information at one time as it will most likely be discarded, or they'll lose interest in what you're saying when they begin to feel overwhelmed. Systematically provide beneficial information to them as it's more likely to be taken into consideration and every point of contact increases the likelihood of establishing a client in the end.

In addition there are also steps you can take in selecting your target market that will aid you in your endeavor.

Hope this helps!!
