amar kaushik | | Miditech, a television production house is currently making a surgery based makeover show for Sony Television. The program is about the positive change the medical fraternity brings in the lives of individuals and requires the candidates to share their stories on camera.
Extreme Makeover, Miditech's latest venture for Sony Television is one of the most successful reality programmes in the US.
Extreme Makeover, a one-hour reality makeover series follows the stories of two different people as they undergo successful cosmetic medical procedures that would transform their entire lives. Each new episode features participants in their "before" phase, then as they undergo their various procedures and, finally, when the end results are revealed to their families and friends. The transformations are accomplished through the skills of an "Extreme Team," consisting of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, eye surgeons and orthodontists.
In addition, I would like to mention that the kind of cases we are looking at are those which do not require extensive (multiple) period of surgery be it plastic or any other form of surgery. In short, procedures like fixing a hare lip, rhinoplasty, scar removal, lasik eye surgery etc that can be completed within a time span of 4 to 6 weeks.
We could work with you on a case study basis for a few episodes of the show or for a longer time frame, depending on the feasibility of the same. What we are looking at from you is a platform to find people who would be interested in a makeover. Thus, giving them a chance to lead a better life.
The opportunity to change one's life is a theme of universal significance and as a result Extreme Makeover is such a hit across the world and the US version has already been telecast across Asia Pacific including Channel 9 Australia, TVNZ New Zealand, Channel 5 Singapore, I-Cable Hong Kong, IVM Indonesia and TVNZ-PS Fiji.
It is a top performing show in Australia and New Zealand, and ranked in the top primetime programs on Channel 9 and TVNZ for the 2004-2005 season.
The programme will be telecast summer of 2006 on Sony Television.
