| The Ryze New York City Network is not currently active and cannot accept new posts | Hello Everyone I Am A Newbie! | Views: 628 | Sep 22, 2006 1:38 pm | | re: Hello Everyone I Am A Newbie! | # | Ester Horowitz | | Dear Susan, I am an IAB Representative as well. Some advice for you on the Ryze network since you state that you are a newbie.
First your initial attempt was to sell us on what you have. Bad idea. None of us are interested and get all too many such efforts daily. It is a common mistake.
Second your next attempt was better. It at least seeks support about how to use the Ryze Network. Like other networks, give us a chance to get to know you, like you, feel a connection to you, and then if we think there is something we can do, we will. Have patience, networking takes time, alot of people are doing it, and there is no quick response or fast hits that is often sought by newbies most of the time.
Third, MLMs are not encouraged by most networking venues for a lot of reasons and it is in the bylaws of Ryze.
Finally, Always, always, always, see how you can bring value to others in what interests them without expectations of what is in it for you. They will in turn be willing and open to supporting your goals as time goes by. Brush yourself off! Stay positive, and always remember from this example it's more efficient to send a private message of this nature than teach Ryze members about Ryze Message Board etiquette.

However RYZE is a public forum and at least it was an honest response. I'd rather be honest and give valuable information that would serve the greater good, then to sugar coat a message no one gets. So you have a choice, focus on the message or focus on the tone.
How many times have you received messages on RYZE from people you never met? They are hacking their services and products without ever taking the time to learn about RYZE, the value of it, how to best use it, or learn about anyone of us before they send blanketed messages across the board to all of us.
I've received too many to count and stopped looking or participating. If I have, how many others have too? Is that the reaction you want from RYZE? Some how I don't think so. It causes the loss of too many good and qualified people who are valuable networkers.
So if my message breaks through despite its directness and makes RYZE a better place to network, then I say great. If all you can do is focus on the tone, its directness, whether is should have been private or not, or that you don't like straight forward honesty, then fine with me. That's your choice. I'll take the honesty any day. And I have receive several and salute them for being honest with me. should have been closed and lets get back to business! Ryze is not yours to do as you please, Go your own way and start a
BUINESS NETWORK for you and vain glorious half lights like yourself. You then can dictate terms on the need of having
others serve you and not business as RYZE and the board is there for! It is in poor taste and judgement, when you knee-
jerk you reactions to someone who may have made a mistake. Susan's posting to the board started "NEWBIE", Any enlighten mind
would have seen this for what it was, a person who did not know the rules here, Unlike some who did see the mistake,
You took it apon yourself to speak in a manner that lacked professonial tack and polish, and like many who choose to
attack, You are now on the board looking for support in Your bad act. The silence you hear now is from the rest of us, As
you pat yourself on the back with one hand! Give it a REST!!

Anyway - welcome to ryzing - I have found a lot of advise, met a lot of contacts and asked a lot of questions - AND the major way was by people telling me what they have to offer in terms of their business. Otherwise - what would be the point in just going to a person - right?

Since I am unable to respond to your private note, let me remind you that I did not come to you, you came to me twice. I simply responded with an honest answer.
Agreed, that the method may have been better, and agreed that I learned from the exchange as well. So to the rest of the board thank you for your feedback. It was helpful.
