Alkaline vs. Acid: The role of pH level body fluids in protecting your bodyViews: 1475

The pH scale is 0.0-14.0. Neutrality is at 7.0. Below 7.0 is considered acid. Above 7.0 is considered alkaline.

Excerpts (sometimes paraphrased) from the book:
"Xtreme Health" by Brad King
The foundation of optimal Health, Happiness and Longevity

Natures pH Buffers

pH is one of the most important things you need to learn about in terms of health and disease.

Your body will buffer the acidity of your blood at all costs- your body WILL NOT let your blood become acidic and therefore unable to carry oxygen-- or you wouldn't survive. Your body does this buffering by pulling alkaline minerals, ESPECIALLY CALCIUM, from your saliva, soft tissues and bones.

Key point:

If you continue to eat and drink acid-producing foods and liquids without balancing this with sufficient alkaline foods and liquids, your body will end up pulling way too much calcium from the bones to buffer the excess acidity. excerpt from page 37-39)

The Coral Calcium Story:

A British journalist for the Guinness Book of Records was on an assignment to interview Shigechiyo Izumi, the world's oldest documented living person, a sprightly 115-year-old man in remarkably good health.

The journalist was amazed by Izumi's vitality and the fact that he had worked until the age of 105.

When the journalist realized most of the islands' inhabitants were physically fit, with long lifespans and low incidences of serious illness, he persuaded Mr. Isuzu to submit to a medical check up.

The results were nothing short of fantastic. How could a person of his age possible be so healthy? A team of researchers came to the island to answer this question and made some remarkable discoveries. They found the water the islanders drank was different from water found anywhere else in the world.

"Small amounts of coral just about any liquid would increase the pH and make it alkaline." These islands were built up from Sango coral reefs that are chemically very similar to the human skeleton. When rain falls on these islands, it percolates through these ancient coral deposits and picks up minerals and other elements that make it truly unique. Not only does it contain many essential minerals, it is also very alkaline, with a pH between 7 and 8.5.

After years of research it was found that a small amount of above sea Sango coral added to just about any liquid would increase the pH and make it alkaline. Researchers also discovered that the coral neutralized waste products in water and added an number of important minerals often removed during treatment at local water plants.

Even water containing impurities such as chlorine, bacteria, heavy metals, and fluoride can be brought into proper pH balance.

Over a decade ago, the health conscious Japanese government authorized the mining of the Sango Above Sea coral. Sango coral is the only coral out of 2,500 species found to have these health benefits, and only occurs in abundance around Okinawa, Japan. Over four millions Japanese consume coral calcium daily (including many world recognized medical doctors.) The city of Horoshima filters and cleans its water with these coral calcium products.
