Am planning to go to Bali in feb. Dont have a clue on the place. Trying to get as much info on it as possible. What i need to know is which part of bali should be the best place to go... south, north, etc... want to be at a romantic beach resort, not too expensive... stay options, etc....
does one need to obtain visa prior to flying to bali or one can get it on arrival...

Had done some research on Bali ... which may come handy to ya !!!
Bali has a variety of tourist destinations esp..beaches . Shopping is recommended in Bali as it is famous for sculptures/paintings/batik clothes
Some pointers:
Get Hotel to do the airport pick up service. Normally it is free at least one way. Even if they charge extra, it is safe and convenient.
For travel in and around Jogja/Bali, get a car hired with driver. The hotel will do the service - Rate is about $30- $40 depending on the car.
Best beaches in Bali - Nusa dua, Jumeira and Kuta. Kuta is very popular but crowded
You can stay at Nusa and go to Kuta
Borobudur & Prambanan - Good place to cover on the way to Bali. Recommend staying in Yogkyakarta (also called as Jogja). Cover the Borobudur in the morning ( An hour drive from Jogja) and then see Prambanan in the evening just before sun set. Do not miss Ramyana dance by bali dancers at Prambanan temple which is normally around 7.30. Good hotels/good food at Jogja. Good shopping too if you are near the "malboro" street.
Hope this helps !!!
Cheers
