Any idea what's included in it? How much it costs? Where are all the vineyards in India, who conducts these tours, etc. Private Reply to Merril Diniz, Madame Curious | Jan 30, 2007 5:50 pm | | re: Wine | # | Randy DeVaul | | Can't help you for India but we own a bed & breakfast on the wine trail of Western NY. The 14 wineries in the area sponsor wine tours and wine trail events about 3x per year. Costs range from $21US per person to up to $50/couple for a weekend, not including lodging or meals. Tours generally include wine sampling, some hors' douvres and a free gift to remember the weekend. For example, weekend of Feb 9-11 they are sponsoring a Wine and Chocolate event for Valentines Day. We as a b&b on the trail are sold out and we purchased the tickets for our guests that are staying with us.
It's all I know but hope this helps. Should anyone care to visit or get more info, please visit our website: brickhousebnb dot com. Have a great day! I have been to the the Sula Vineyards near Nashik last year.... If you inform them in advance, they'll organise to take you for a guided tour... Check out www.sulawines.com
You can also have a wine-tasting session at the bar overlooking the vineyard.
Cheers Nrupal

Some places have wine-crushing parties too...Private Reply to Darpana Athale | Feb 06, 2007 4:45 pm | | re: Wine | # | Shana Overhulser | | I love wine too. Let me know if you find any special trips for 2007. I know there are plenty of trips to California, USA and all over Italy....and sometimes wine cruises.

I meant grape-crushing, not wine crushing! ;) Private Reply to Darpana Athale | Feb 12, 2007 2:10 pm | | re: Wine | # | aparnadogra | | Tulleeho organises these for Sula and others. check out www.tulleeho.com or call up Sula in Mumbai ( www.sulawines.com) Aparna Private Reply to aparnadogra | Feb 15, 2007 5:59 pm | | re: re: Wine | # | Rajeev Goenka. | | We were there last Septmeber at the Sula Vineyard at Nasik. But that time the season was over ,so they just showed the plant. It was'nt operational. The crushing season is now in Feb. This will be a good time to go there. Climate will be lovely too. They have a person take you around and explain everything. Then you can do wine tasting also in their wine bar which is on the first floor ,overlooking the vineyard. Very nice experience.
I can say it compares very well wiht the Napa Valley vineyards in California,as was there too last August.Private Reply to Rajeev Goenka. | |
