Lasse Burholt... Everywhere! | | In his poem "The Road Not Taken," Robert Frost wrote:
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both, and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could ... Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
THIS WEEK'S LESSON: Taking the Road Less Traveled
Frost's words are incredibly meaningful. We are all travelers in this world. Every day we are presented with choices to make. Sometimes there are more than two roads that lie in front of us - some safe, some unknown. When given the choice most people choose to go on the path that everyone else has taken ... just to play it safe.
Safe is a lie that we choose to tell ourselves is real. Nothing in this world is safe. There is no sure thing. There is only "doing what everyone else has always done." Playing it safe will only get us to one destination - the place where everyone else who plays it safe ends up: nowhere!
And if we want to be phenomenally successful and lead a life filled with joy and abundance we have to veer from the beaten path and take the road less traveled.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIS WEEK'S ACTION STEP
It doesn't make sense to jump onto an onramp and put the pedal to the floor unless we're very clear on where we're going. Have you ever driven on "auto pilot" and discovered, miles later, that you're not anywhere where you'd intended to be going? For many people, that's their lives.
You don't want that for your life. You need to know your destination.
I suggest we ask ourselves 10 clarifying questions to decide if we're going in the right direction toward a destination that is truly worthy of us. Pull out a journal, a fresh page on your computer, or a simple writing pad and let's get to work!
1. Do I know what talents I possess and what energizes me?
2. Do I use my special talents and skills to their fullest?
3. Does my work help me to learn about an interest I have or an issue that I care deeply about?
4. Am I making a positive difference in the world through my work? 5. Do I wake up every morning excited about the day ahead?
6. Have I developed a set of personal principles for my life and career?
7. Am I a risk taker?
8. Is there a sense of meaning and purpose in my life?
9. Do I have a list of goals that I am actively pursuing on a daily basis?
10. Am I living in the past, present or in the future?
Answering those 10 questions will help you to decide if you are moving in the right direction, toward the life you dream about. If you are not on the fast track to success, there is no time like to present to change your direction and head toward your worthy destination!
