Ernie Martin | | I just read in www.seat61.com that there is a train from Sealdah(Calcutta) to Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The writer says sometime in April 14, '07 the train ride started. Are there any visa requirements for US citizens to enter Bangladesh from India?
Any details of this train ride about time/schedule, classes, is appreciated (I prefer night train with sleeping berths). according the Bangladesh railways, there are some major cities that can be explored, such as Dhaka, Chittagong and Syhlet.

I do not know that much about the train rides but there are regular buses from Kolkata to Bangladesh and the trip is also nice and comfortble. I Just sent off two of my friends who had come from Poland to the buses. They had to pay Rs 800 for a ticket and the buses are also nice Volvo Buses.
